Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information you share with us and other information we collect from you and how we use it to support products and features offered by Stickifax (Stickifax Products or Products).

Information You Share With Us

In order to use our Products, we have to collect and use information about you. For instance, you must have an account in order to share content or interact with other users on Stickifax. When you choose to share information about you, we collect and use it to operate our services.

  • Basic account information you provide.
When you use our Products, we collect the information and other content you provide. In order to use most of the features in our Products, you have to create an account. If you do choose to create an account, you must provide some personal data so that we can provide our services to you. This includes a full name or display name (such as “Stickifax Olympiad”), a Stickifax username, an email address, and a password. Your display name and username are always public.
  • Additional information we receive and content you provide.
We collect information, content, and other communications you provide when you use our Products, create or share content, and send messages or communicate with others. This may include information associated with the content you provide such as metadata — the location of a photo or the date of creation of a file, for example. We process content and communications you provide to analyze context and what's in them for the purposes stated in How Your Information Is Used below. We also receive and store data when you interact with our services, such as when your account is created, and the last time you logged into your account.
  • Public information.
Most activity on Stickifax is public, including your profile information (which is displayed close to your profile picture on your profile page), when you created your account, and your posts and certain information about your posts like the date and time of postage. You may also choose to publish your location in your Stickifax profile or in your posts. The interests you indicate, people you follow and people who follow you, communities of which you are a member, comments you leave on posts, and posts you Like or Pin or Bookmark are also public, along with when you took those actions. Information posted about you by other people who use our services may also be public. For example, other people may tag or mention you in a post.

You are responsible for your posts as well as other content and information you provide through our services, and you should think carefully about what you make public, especially if it is sensitive information. If you update your public information on Stickifax, such as by deleting a post or a comment, we will thereafter, as quickly as possible, reflect your updated content on our Products whenever a fresh request is made for such information.

Inasmuch as we provide your public information to the world through our Products, we may also use technology like application programming interfaces (APIs) and embeds to make that information available to websites, apps, and others for their use — for example, displaying posts on a news website.
  • Device information.
We collect information from and about the web-connected devices (such as phones and computers) that you use to intermingle with our Products, and we combine this information across different devices you use. We use information collected about your use of our Products, for example, to better personalize the content or features you see when you use our Products on another device.

Information we obtain from devices includes:
    • Device properties: information such as the operating system, browser type, as well as software versions.
    • Data from device through device settings: information you permit us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as for camera, location, or photos.
    • Device identifiers: device IDs, and other unique identifiers.
    • Cookie data: data from cookies stored on your device, including cookie IDs and settings. For more information about how we use cookies, see the Stickifax Cookies Policy.
  • Things other people do and information they provide about you.
We receive and analyze content, information, and communications that other people provide when they use our Products. This may include information about you, such as when others send a message to you, or share or comment on a post about you or a photo of you.

How Your Information Is Used

We use the information we collect from you to provide, improve, and deliver our Products and other related services, such as to personalize features and content (like your Stickifax Home Feed, Discover Feed, and Reports Feed) and to make suggestions for you (such as communities you may find interesting, other users with whom you may share interests, or topics you may want to follow) on and off our Products. To create personalized Products that are unique and relevant to you, we use your connections, interests, preferences, and activities based on any and all data we collect and learn from you and others; how you use and interact with our Products; and the people, places, or things into which you are connected and have placed interest on and off our Products.

Promote safety, security, and integrity. We use the information we have to verify accounts and activity, detect and prevent spam and other bad experiences, fight against harmful conduct, investigate suspicious activity or violations of our terms or policies, maintain the integrity of our Products, and promote safety and security on and off of our Products.

Communicate with you. We use the information we have to communicate with you about our Products, send you marketing communications, and let you know about our policies and terms. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.

Information We Share

Stickifax instantly disseminates your information

  • People with whom you share and communicate.
When you share and communicate using our Products, you choose the audience for what you share. For example, when you use Stickifax to communicate with people or entities (such as businesses), those people and entities can see the content you send. Your network can also see actions you have taken on our Products, like leaving a comment on a post or indicating that you like a post.
As indicated above, some of your information will always be public, such as your Stickifax username. Public information can be seen by anyone, either on or off our Products, whether they have an account or not. Other such public information includes information in your profile; any information you share with a public audience; and content you share on a public Stickifax account or on a Stickifax community. You, other people using Stickifax, and we can provide access to or send public information to anyone on or off our Products, in search results, or through APIs and other tools. Public information can also be seen, accessed, reshared, or downloaded through third-party services such as search engines, APIs, offline media such as TV, and by websites, apps, and other services that integrate with our Products.
  • Content others share or reshare about you.
People can also use our Products to create and share content about you with the audience they choose. For example, people can share a photo of you in a photo, mention or tag you by your username at a location in a post, or share information about you in their posts or messages.
People who can see your activity on our Products can choose to share it with others on and off our Products, including people and other entities outside the audience with whom you shared. For example, when you share a post or send a message to specific users, they can download, take a screenshot, or reshare that content to others across or off our Products. Also, when you interact with someone else's post or other content, such as leaving a comment on a post, your interaction is visible to anyone who is able to see the other person's content or the content to the community to which it might have been posted, as well as your followers, and that person (or community) can change the audience later.
  • Affiliates and change of ownership.
In the event that we are involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal data may be sold or transferred to new parties involved as part of that transaction.
  • Law, safety, and the public interest.
We share, preserve, or use information with law enforcement or in response to legal requests if we believe that it is reasonably necessary, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy or controls we may otherwise offer to you, to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to protect the safety or integrity of our platform, including to help prevent spam, abuse, or malicious actors on our services, or to explain why we have removed content or accounts from our services; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property or the rights or property of those who use our Products or services.

Managing Your Information With Us

You control the personal data you share with us. We provide you with tools and account settings to access, modify, delete, or download the information you have shared through our services. When you are logged into your Stickifax account, you can manage your privacy settings and other account features. While our Products provide you the means to render some of your content private to other users, our administrators will be able to have access and monitor content when necessary, to ensure that our Community Guidelines have not been violated.
We store data until it is no longer necessary to provide our Products and services, or until your account is deleted – whichever comes first. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information, such as your full name, and things you have posted, such as posts to your profile and communities, and you won't be able to recover that information later. Information that others have shared about you is not part of your account and will not be deleted. Keep in mind that search engines and other third parties may still retain copies of your public information, like your profile information and public posts, even after you have deleted the information from our services.
